You can only make a truly meaningful contribution when your dedication to a better world is balanced with the part of you that needs rest and renewal. We often call that renewal "doing nothing." Usually, it means not working, not earning money, resting, doing the things you genuinely enjoy, and savoring your freedom. But why do we call that "nothing"? Whatever helps you feel happier, healthier, and more at peace is already a contribution to a better world. If you give more than you truly have to give, you eventually deplete yourself. And instead of uplifting those around you, you end up spreading a much lower energy that leaves others feeling drained as well.
